Put SmartyTask on your phone

It takes under a minute. There's nothing to download and no app store — SmartyTask installs straight from this website, and your daily digest can arrive as a notification, right on your phone.

On an iPhone or iPad

Works in Safari and Chrome. You'll do this once.

  1. Open smartytask.com in Safari or Chrome on your phone — or just stay right here if you're reading this on it.
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow pointing up. In Safari it's at the bottom of the screen; in Chrome it's near the address bar.
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen," then tap Add. The SmartyTask icon appears on your home screen like any other app.
  4. Open SmartyTask from the new icon. To get your daily digest as a notification, go to Settings inside the app and tap "Turn on notifications."
That's it. One tap from your home screen from now on — full screen, no browser bars, and notifications if you want them.

On an Android phone

Chrome makes this even easier.

  1. Open smartytask.com in Chrome. Most phones will offer to add SmartyTask to your home screen on their own — if so, just tap Install and you're done.
  2. If it doesn't offer: tap the three dots at the top right, then tap "Add to Home screen."
  3. For notifications: open the app, go to Settings, tap "Turn on notifications."
  4. Bonus — capture from any app: once installed, SmartyTask appears in your phone’s Share menu. Reading an email or a webpage you want to act on? Tap Share → SmartyTask and it lands in your Inbox.

On your computer

Nothing to add, but two nice extras.

  1. Notifications: in the app, go to Settings and click "Turn on notifications." Your digest pops up on your desktop each morning.
  2. One-click icon (optional): in Chrome or Edge, look for the small install icon at the right end of the address bar and click Install. SmartyTask opens in its own window, straight from your dock or taskbar.
